Poster Craft
One of the fun ways to teach word problems is to encourage pride in their work. To do so, let your students know that their work will be part of the cute poster or math bulletin board display.
Embrace the holiday spirit by incorporating Christmas-themed word problems into a craft project. This hands-on approach makes math learning festive and engaging.
Word Problems All Operations Mythical Creatures Crafts – Math Bulletin Board
Students enjoy fixing the craft pieces of dragon, phoenix and unicorn together.
These word problems include addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. There are many 5 different difficulty (grade) levels with 27 done-for-you math word problems.
But if you want to personalize the word problems, there are editable PowerPoint slides provided. This means you can use it for other subjects or topics too! There are endless possibilities!
Multistep Word Problems Greek Mythology Math Craft – Math Bulletin Board
This is also editable and no prep but can save more lesson time than the craft above.
Firstly, the characters are smaller in size which means the area for coloring is smaller.
Secondly, students do not need to cut the topper but they can do so if they want.
My students do like to cut out the topper as they think it looks nicer.
However, I only allowed them to cut the cerberus as it is easier to cut. There are too many details of the outline of the medusa and hydra. It is too complicated for kids to cut them out.
Thirdly, students can just cut out the poster along the border and paste below the topper.
To save time, students can only cut the 2nd poster at the top (the “cut and paste” portion) and paste the paper all together.
Paper Weaving – Weave A Pic

Students will do the word problems then match the answers on the paper strips with the question numbers on the mat.
There are 2 different sets of word problems of different difficulty levels which is great for differentiation.
Set A has 1- and 2-steps word problems.
Set B has multi step word problems.
With the self-checking picture, it can help you save time on grading, and answer keys are provided for easy checking.
There is a video preview and written instructions with images to show you how to paper weave. These make it great for substitute teachers.
