Poster crafts are a direct and simple way to incorporate word problems with craft. So this idea came to my mind when I met a student who is weak in word problems and likes to do crafts. .
I asked her what characters she wanted, and she said unicorn. So to encourage my student to do more word problems, I created this craft.

This bulletin board idea combines multi-step word problems with Greek mythology creatures that are multi-headed. It seems a perfect fit, multi-step matches with multi-headed.
To reduce the time needed to create the craft, the creatures are more of a topper that you don’t need to cut. That gives me the flexibility to create creatures that have angles that are difficult to cut.
However, maybe my students are too used to cutting out the pieces, they find that it looks nicer if they cut out the Cerberus head.

This craft was created because my Primary 2 student said she wanted a rabbit craft.
The first thought that came to my mind is: it hop. And when I think of hopping, the only math association I canI think of is skip counting.
Thus, I decided to create a poster craft with a variety of ways to practice multiplication.
I think it was all worth it when my student exclaimed when she saw the craft.
